Country Cottage Needleworks: Frosty Couple

Viimeistelin itselle jo pitkään pisteltynä olleen pikkuisen ristipiston. Minullahan näitä pisteltyjä palasia riittää... enemmän kuin laki sallii. :) Tästä tuli kyllä aivan ylisöpö joulu/talvikoriste. :)

Tämä Frosty Couple on osa Country Cottage Needleworksin Winter Wonderland -sarjasta. Pistelin tämän pakkauksen mukana tulleilla silkkilangoilla ja kyllä niillä vaan tulee erinäköistä jälkeä kuin tavallisilla muliinilangoilla. Mutta jostain syystä en vaan kovin lämpene noille silkkilangoille pistelyssä. Miksihän?

This Frosty Couple is part of Country Cottage Needleworks' Winter Wonderland series. I stitched it with silk threads that came with the thread package but for some reason I am not warming up to silk threads. Wonder why?

Birthday swap for Jaana

Oupsilaisten kanssa on jo useamman vuoden ajan pistelty synttärivaihtoja. :) Tänä vuonna meillä on vaihdosta kaksi eri versiota, ja minä osallistuin siihen suppeampaan (jossa pistellään lahja vain synttäriksi, kun taas laajemmassa pistellään kolme eri lahjaa). En uskaltanut lähteä mukaan laajaan versioon, kun on ollut Oupsin RR myös samalla työn alla. :)

Jaanalla oli synttärit tuossa juhannuksena ja hän sai minulta tällaisen kirjan. Jaana tykkää leipomisesta ja niitä leipomuksia on tullut Oupsin tapaamisissa maisteltua useampiakin, hyviä ovat! :) Leipomisestä se ajatus tuohon vaihtoon sitten lähti. Ja kirjasen mukana lähti Jaanalle tietysti kaikkea muutakin leipomiseen liittyvää. :)

We have had birthday swaps in our local cross stitch group for couple of years now. :) There are two kinds of birthday swaps going on this year and I took part in the "smaller" one. I have also been stitching RR at the same time so I didn't want to over do it. :)

Jaana had her birthday during Midsummer Festivals and this is what I stitched for her. Jaana likes to bake and her cakes are always delicious, so that's where I got the idea for this exchange. :) And of course I also gave her other baking related gifts with this book.

Sweet Treats

Tähän Sweet Treats -pistelyyn olen todella, todella tyytyväinen! :) Kangas on vaaleanvihreä, 32 ct. Pikkuisen meinasi jännittää, että miten käy nappien kanssa, koska malli oli alunperin tarkoitettu 28 ct kankaalle. Mutta kuten kuvista näkyy, niin no problem. :)

I am so pleased with my Sweet Treats! :) The fabric is light green linen, 32 ct. I was a bit worried that the buttons might not fit properly, because you were supposed to stitch this on 28 ct fabric. But as you can see, no trouble at all. :) 

Kuvassa kangas kyllä näyttää enemmänkin siniseltä kuin vihreältä, mutta uskokaa pois, on se vihreä! :D

The fabric looks more blue than green in the photo, but believe me, it's green! :D

The story of Sweet Treats continues...

Edelleenkin täällä on pistelty CCN:n Sweet Treatsia. :) Tykkään tästä kyllä tosi paljon, ja kyllä, tämä tulee passaamaan mun keittiöön tosi hyvin. :D Tuo kangas on erittäin vaalea vihreä, ja voisin melkeinpä lyödä pilkan seinään, koska näyttäis, että se oli tälle työlle ihan onnistunut valinta!

Olen parin viimeisen päivän aikana pistellyt myös yhden pienen salaisuusprojektin, mutta siitä kuvia joskus myöhemmin...

I'm still stitching CCN Sweet Treats. :) I really like this a lot and I think this will look so nice in my kitchen. :D The fabric is very light green and looks like I (finally) managed to pick something that will look great! Somehow I find it really difficult to pick fabric for the CCN designs. I always end up picking something that is too light for the thread colours. :)

During last couple of days I have also stitched something small for a gift, so photos later...

Ja tässä se on tänä aamuna. Eli sain pisteltyä eilisen aikana ihan kiitettävästi. :)

And here it is this morning. So I managed to stitch quite a lot yesterday. :) 

Tuon Cupcake-lokeron pienet ruusunapit sopivat varmasti ihan hyvin niiden paikoille, mutta saas nähdä miten käy tuossa keskimmäisessä Sweet Treats -lokerossa. Siinä on nimittäin aika isot kakkunapit. :-O

The tiny rose buttons for the Cupcake area will probably fit ok, but I'm not sure about the cake buttons for the Sweet Treats area in the upper middle column... The buttons are quite large, so they might not fit... :-O

Oulussa paistaa tänä aamuna ihana kevät-aurinko ja pakkasta näyttää olevan -9 C. Eli tänään mennään luultavasti pulkkamäkeen Poitsun kanssa. :)

The weather is really nice in Oulu at the moment. The sun is shining and there's only -9 C outside. So it look's like this will be a day for some sledge riding for our Son. :)

Working on Sweet Treats

Viikonloppuna pääsi neulalle uusi työ. Malli on Sweet Treats ja tietysti CCN:ltä, ja tämähän sisältää useamman pakkauksen verran pisteltävää. Otin kyllä pienen riskin tämän kankaan kanssa... Pistelen nimittäin 32 ct kankaalle, kun tuo malli on suunniteltu 28 ct:lle. Eli saas nähdä mahtuvatko napit mukaan ollenkaan vai pitääkö soveltaa niiden tilalle jotain muuta. ;D

I started stitching Sweet Treats by CCN last weekend. I have had these thread packs for ages and now seemed like a perfect time to start stitching on them. I took a bit of a risk with the fabric though. I'm stitching this on 32 ct linen when you are supposed to stitch it on 28 ct fabric. Well, I'll just have to stitch along and someday I will find out if the buttons will actually fit on their spots or not. ;D

Cowboy Dreams finished

Cowboy Dreams valmistui eilen Oupsin naisten mukavassa seurassa. :) Kehyksen sain laitettua heti tänään (kerta se on ensimmäinenkin), joten taulu pääsi Poitsun huoneen seinälle saman tien. Tuo kehys on ehkä pikkuisen liian kaponen tuohon malliin, mutta katotaas nyt kuinka silmä siihen tottuu, vai meneekö vielä vaihtoon. :)

Morjensta Oulusta pakkasen keskeltä! Mittari näyttää jo -27,2 C ja tuntuu, että kiristyy vaan. Jiihaa, tulihan ne kunnon talvikelit vihdoin ja viimein!!! :)

Poitsun huoneeseen aloin pistelemään tätä Country Cottage Needleworksin mallia Cowboy dreams. Poitsu valkkasi tämän ihan ite mun mallipinosta, tykästyi tuohon alareunan pupuun kovasti. :)

Greetings from freezing cold weather! It's -27,2 C (-16,9 F) outside at the moment and seems like it's getting colder all the time. Wonderful, at last we have the proper winter outside!!! :)

I begun stitching Country Cottage Needleworks' design Cowboy dreams couple of days ago for our son's room. He chose this design himself from my stash pile and the main reason was that he really liked the bunny at the bottom. :)

Frosty couple finished

Ollaan täällä pisteltykin joululomalla. :) Kolme työtä on itse asiassa saatettu loppuun, mutta ihan kaikkea ei voi vielä näyttää. :)

Tämä Country Cottage Needleworksin Frosty Couple on yksi valmistuneista. Ja oliko yllätys, että jälleen kerran otin liian vaalean kankaan CCN:n mallille? Lumihiutaleet eivä tahdo oikein erottua kankaasta (itse asiassa kuvassa erottuvat paljon paremmin kuin luonnossa) ja mietinkin jo, että pitäisköhän laittaa vaikka jotain valkoisia helmiä tms. noihin päälle? Saas nyt nähdä kehtaanko. ;)

I have been stitching, honest! :) I have actually finished three pieces but can't show all of them yet. :)

This Frosty Couple by Country Cottage Needleworks is one of the stitched pieces. And surprise, surprise. Once again I took too light fabric for CCN design. The snow don't show up properly (you can see them much better in the photo) and I was just wondering if I should add some pearls or something to enhance them. :)
